Welcome to the 5th Japan−Finland Biotechnology Symposium

on June 8−11 2010 in Turku, Finland

We are pleased to announce the 5th Japan-Finland Biotechnology Symposium, a comparative view on biotechnology reflecting the Japan-Finland linkage, to be held in Turku, Finland, on June 8-11 2010.

The symposium brings together basic and applied research in Japan and Finland, both from academia and industry. The programme focuses on areas where similar interests across borders may be found and where collaboration is already strong or worth deeper exploration. The focal points in 2010 are:

  • Biorefinery concepts
  • Biosynthetic pathways, bioprocessing and -catalysis
  • Probiotics and bioactive compounds
  • Microbes and plants as production factories
  • Microbial genomics
  • Bioactive compounds and secondary metabolites

The symposium has traditionally proved a valuable venue for networking. With this in mind, the number of participants is restricted to 200 this year in order to optimize both the time spent on the scientific programme
and on partnering meetings.

We look forward to seeing you in Turku!

You are warmly welcomed by the network of the Organising Committee Members:
